Case Study - Device Simulation and Automated Testing

Truck Component Test Station

Client's Challenge:
A truck manufacturer wanted to build an automated test station to reduce the costs associated with verification. The client called upon Logikos to develop the test station infrastructure and automated test components.

Logikos' Solution:
Logikos developed a data link component to communicate with multiple J1939 and J1708 networks. This component was used to send data link messages to and receive messages from the components under test. The test station houses and controls multiple racks of VXI instrumentation cards, which simulate various vehicle inputs and read outputs of components under test. The test station and feature tests are configurable to test many different combinations of truck features in an automated fashion. Errors in the truck component software were found with the test station that hadn't been discovered by any of the client's other testing methods.
