Logikos to Expand its Fort Wayne Corporate Headquarters, R&D Center

$5 million investment planned; 35 new jobs to be added by 2011

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (July 14, 2008)—Logikos, Inc., an employee-owned (ESOP) company specializing in custom software development and systems integration, has announced plans to relocate to a new facility to be built on Dawson’s Creek Boulevard just south of Dupont Road in Fort Wayne. The company also plans to create 35 new jobs by the end of 2011. Logikos has a workforce of nearly 100 (approximately 60 employees and 40 contractors) at its current leased Fort Wayne facility at 2914 Independence Drive.

“We believe that housing our employees in an efficient, creative and productive environment will enhance our ability to maintain and attract additional high-level engineering talent that Logikos’ customers in the medical, automotive, defense and electronics industries appreciate and expect," said Gregg Weisman, president of Logikos. “This new facility will provide that environment, and we are excited to take this important step.”

Plans are being developed by the Pranger Group and call for the building to contain 26,000 square feet of space located on approximately six and a half acres. Jim Wilhelm of Martin Goldstine Knapke has assisted the company with the project. Completion of the project is subject to finalization of financing arrangements, selection of contractors from an established short list, securing government approvals of site plans and execution of acceptable construction agreements.

“This is terrific news for Fort Wayne as well as for Logikos,” stated Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry. “It has been a pleasure to host Logikos in our city for the past 30 years. This is a company that has evolved over time, with rapid growth over the last four years. To see this success in a local company, with needs for a larger workspace as well as additional employees, is an optimistic sign for our community.”

“Logikos is a prime example of a technology-based business that will help expand and diversify our economy,” said Governor Mitch Daniels. “Another announcement of high-tech opportunities for Hoosier workers is further proof that Indiana is an attractive place for high-wage job growth.”

The Fort Wayne Common Council is expected to consider a phase in of property taxes on the project. The value of that tax phase in is just over $400,000 over ten years. Other incentives offered to the company include a City of Fort Wayne grant totaling $54,000 to offset some costs of the project. In addition, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation has offered Logikos up to $235,000 in tax credits, up to $61,500 in worker training assistance and up to $25,000 in infrastructure assistance for fiber optic cable connectivity.

Logikos was recently approved for a Training Acceleration Grant (TAG) in the amount of $193,040 through WorkOne and the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. Those funds will be used to secure various IT certifications for 60 of the company’s current employees. WorkOne also awarded Logikos employees over $60,000 in individual Career Advancement Accounts for certified training.
